Bhairavara (Shiva) (IBS275)
This excellent image of Shiva originates from the coastal region of Karnataka and is extremely rare. The size is excellent for such an example. Here we see Shiva as Bhairava decorated with very elaborate clothing. In the upper arms are the damaru and trisula. In the lower are a sword and skull cap bowl. Around his neck he wears what appears to be a jaw bone. It is rare to see such a good image as this. The size is extremely impressive. Bhairava is very well detailed with little wear. Some remnants of powder are present. He stands upon a lotus base. No damage.
