Description

Images of Narasimha are quite rare. In this incarnation Vishnu is depicted as the half man half beast (lion). Here we see Him accompanied by His consort Lakshmi. Narasimha is sat on a pedestal surrounded by the body of a Naga. Originally this would have extended to show a 5 headed Naga, sadly this detail is lost. It still remains a very special and rare piece.
