Seated Rama (Orissa) (IBS255)
A very beautiful image of Rama from Orissa. Orissan pieces are rare and distinctive in their features. Unusually we see both the bow and the arrow (an extremely difficult achievement in bronze casting). Because of his seated posture he may have been part of the group when he worshiped the Linga before setting over to Lanka to combat Ravanna.
Note the bulbous eyes, typical beaded base and stylised crown. Although small this is a rare pieces and we are very pleased to offer it here.
There is a minor casting flaw on Rama's bow but other than that it is in near perfect condition and very rare.
